It is with sadness that I send this email to inform you that of one of our very own coaches recently passed away.  Shannon Dorsey was most recently one of our 12U Softball coaches this spring.  He forever had the team name of ShortHorns.  This spring he briefly considered having a different name but then went back to old faithful.  He was a tough coach with a big heart to help the kids.  He spent many hours with his daughter playing the game he loved.  He was a local high school baseball player that moved on to play at the University of Texas.  He has spent many hours at the fields during workdays making any improved needed.  During the most recent improve our ballpark he was the first one there and last one to leave.  A water break was made on the softball fields but he was there until the end.  He was one that would offer to use his trailer even last minute just to help any way that he could.

The family has arranged for a celebration of life service to be will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:30 at Bannockburn Church.  Dress code NO suits!!  Come casual and ready to share your memories we have set aside time for just that reason if you want to share.

Please, instead of flowers, we have chosen two organizations close to Shannon's heart.  Manchaca Optimist Youth Sports Complex (PayPal registrarmoysc@gmail.com  or Hungry Souls- an organization that provides weekend and school break meals for kids and families www.hungry-souls.org/donate .

Shannon and the ShortHorn name will forever hold a special place in my heart.  Please keep his family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.
